Andiroba- Brazil

Andiroba oil is extracted from the Carapa Guianesis tree. It is a tropical tree that thrives in the climate of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. Registered into the national registry of useful medicinal plants by the Brazilian Health Department, the Carapa Guianesis is recognised for its health benefits dating back to ancient times when the tree was cure fevers and digestive disorders.

Historically natives used an extremely different process to extract the oil than the cold pressing method using today. Natives would follow a lengthy process by boiling the fruit for hours, followed by drying them in the shade for days. The fruit would then be shelled, sliced and packed together in a punctured container so the oil was able to flow out through the oils.  We use the oil in our Daily Base™ Revive Oil for it's Lightweight and quick penetrating properties, and is produced under ecological conditions without damage to the rainforest.

Camellia - Japan

The Camellia is also known as the Japanese Rose. It is a flower native to the Himalayas but flourishes as far as Japan and Indonesia.

The benefits of Camellia can be found in Japanese culture, through the tale of Genjii, a Japanese novel from the 11th century. Camellia oil was used by women of the court to the preserve youthfulness and boost radiance in their skin and long black hair. In Kyoto, at the Buddhist temple Ryoan- Ji, there is a Camelia that is said to date back to the 14th century where the trees branches were used to chase away evil spirits. We use Camellia in the Daily Base™ Revive Oil because it is deeply hydrating and conditioning, rich in Vitamins E & A, oleic acid & stearic acid, it helps smooth and soften and firm the skin.

Castorbean- Tropical Africa

Castorbean is a tropical shrub that is distinguished by its glossy and decorative leaves. It is also referred to as ‘Christs Palm’ or ‘Palma Chrisit’ due to its decorative leaves which are likened to Jesus’s hands. Castor seed oil has been used for centuries for cleansing the body, making soap and lightning, we use it in the Daily Base™ Wonder Cream for it's cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Sesame- India

Sesame is a plant from the Lamiaceae family. In china it is called “moa”, Japan “Goma”, “Tila” in Sanskrit. Sesame has cemented its reputation within Ayurveda- the Indian holistic philosophy and medicine, where they use it for healing aching joints and having the ability to purify and heal the mind, with techniques to do so involving pouring warmed oil over the forehead then massaged in.

India produces the darkest sesame seeds. However, sesame seeds can be found across the world though they differ in colours. The darkest are produced in Asia, whereas the palest from the Middle East and the West. We use Sesame in our Daily Base™ Wonder Cream for the antioxidant benefits it provides as well as natural skin conditioning.

Fermented Shiunko - Korea

A special Korean medicinal herb oil blend using biotechnology and traditional ointment from Angelica root extract, Soybean, Apricot kernel, Sunflower and Sweet almond oils.  it is traditionally used for boosting collagen, and is renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties. We use it in the Daily Base™ Comfort Balm to plump and revive skin that might be prone to visible pores. Pores can become more visible as skin ages and starts to sag, boosting collagen and plumping the skin can therefore help alleviate more noticeable pores.

Marine Seaweed - Wales

Laminaria algae, commonly known as kelp or seaweed, is used in the Daily Base™  Aqua Gel. The source is a special marine ingredient blend obtained through fermentation of a kelp found in the Aberystwyth area in Wales. It helps with Hyaluronic Acid synthesis, providing a plumping 'water bomb' effect on the skin.
