Wǒ Turns One!

Time flies when you’re having fun! We wanted to document this exciting time in our Journal by looking back upon the impact we’ve made and mark all the mini milestones we’ve encountered along the way. 

August 2020

Happy Birthday Wǒ! After almost two years of hard work to perfect our products, Wǒ was finally launched via four virtual events -  The Barefaced sessions hosted by Liv Little. With a few spanners in the works (ehh…Covid), this wasn’t exactly how we planned to launch but we took advantage of modern technology and it was a huge success! 

September 2020

The amazing @Shareefa_j talked about her beauty tips with Wǒ, sharing and inspiring self-love to the community. 

@Fatimah.oa shared her experience with Wǒ, explaining how she targeted her skin concerns and you can tell… she’s a glowing goddess! 


November 2020 

Collaborating with Mixed Race Faces was a proud moment as their values reflect ours. During the virtual live events, we got together to discuss the impact of ethnicity on your skin with our community and how this is a topic not addressed enough in the industry. 


December 2020

Featured in the health and wellness magazine, Hip and Healthy where we said goodbye to trial and error and hello to skincare clarity. Two of their Instagram followers were also lucky enough to win a big Wǒ giveaway supply. 


January 2021

Wǒ was listed in Marie Claire in the ‘What’s new in your favourite stores and online this week’ article where they emphasised our eco-conscious values!

February 2021

Our Power TonIQ Eye-Contour Perfecting Essence was featured in The Telegraph as the answer to those pesky panda eyes. 


March 2021

Wǒ was selected as a finalist for Beauty and Wellness Connect for Best Brand 2021. This was a massive achievement for us and has made us much more confident moving forward. But the good news doesn’t stop there…

Wǒ was also shortlisted as a finalist in not one but TWO Pure Beauty Global Awards which explored both new skincare brands and the best skincare brands. We were shortlisted for “Best New Inclusive Skin & Body Care Product” with Daily Base™ Wonder Cream and “Best New Disruptor Brand”. 

The launch of our beloved samples, these were a huge success with those who wanted to try the brand and gain trust with our products and for those who just wanted a luxury skincare bargain! 

Big month for Wǒ, we were featured in Grazia for our Eye-Contour Perfecting Essence which tackles dark circles and tired looking eyes. 


April 2021

1st : Glamour spotlighted mono-dosing as the favoured skincare application, featuring Wǒ for our blisters and vials that are packaged in a mono-dose format. 

19th : Harper Bazaar simplified the world of sustainable beauty, emphasising what might not be the obvious with our recyclable packaging that proves us as a sustainable skincare brand


May 2021

The launch of our first kit, the Anti-Blemish Kit, we understand simplicity is key so tackling your skin concerns became even easier with this kit that combines the perfect blend of ingredients. 

Get the Gloss masterclass was led by our founder Karen Lee-Thompson, in this we discussed how to find the perfect skincare routine.

8th : Wǒ was featured in POPSUGAR not once but twice in one week! Being labelled as one of the most exciting skincare products in 2021 was a proud moment for us.

Stylist highlighted Wǒ as a must for post-Ramadan skin and how the transitions during this period impact your skin. 

10th : GQ featured our Eye-Contour Perfecting Essence as one of ‘the best eye serums to work wonders on dark circles’  

And finally, to finish off May on a high, we had our new campaign photoshoot. This was such an uplifting day after not being able to see the team and our models for so long, it felt more like a day out than work! 

 

June 2021

This marks the date of the launch of our Skin Brightening Kit. It was time to get your glow on, Wǒ had your back, our goal was to get you summer skin ready. 

July 2021

Our new Ingredients Glossary launched to help you fully understand what you’re putting on your skin. Knowledge is power and so sharing our expertise with you is what we do best!

Our Live Q&A sessions with Karen Lee-Thompson aimed to get our close-knit community fully involved in the conversation. Sharing all things skincare and inspiring self-love and confidence was certainly achieved. 

August 2021

We want to take the time to thank all the wonderful people who have supported us on this journey, community, our models and team.
