For the launch of our new series “Quick-fire Questions With…” we had the privilege of interviewing beauty industry heavyweight, Millie Kendall MBE. For those of you who don’t know Millie already, here’s a short bio explaining why we’re so delighted to have her join us on the Journal today.
With 30+ years of retail, brand and marketing experience championing some of the beauty industry’s most exciting brands, Millie knows a great product when she sees one! As the driving force behind the British Beauty Council where her work includes commissioning groundbreaking industry reports: The Value of Beauty, Diversity & Inclusivity, The Courage to Change and most recently penning a letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson with the London Covid Business Forum on the importance of the roadmap out of lockdown highlighting the beauty industry. We loved hearing what Millie had to say about all things Wǒ.
Q: So Millie, when you first came across Wǒ, how did it wow you and why?
M: It reminded me of Prada’s skincare range in the ‘90s. Anna-Marie Solowij (former Vogue Beauty Director) and I always obsess over that mono dose packaging. It gives you the perfect amount, no excess waste and is easily transportable. I think it wasn’t until I used the (Daily Base™) Wonder Cream and Comfort Balm that I realised the potency and suitability of the formulae.
Q: What are your main skin concerns?
M: Dryness, and sometimes a little itchy. Since hitting my ‘50s and with menopause I have found my skin can be tight and dry, and at times red and burning from some skincare products.
Q: Can you tell us what are the key benefits to you after trying Wǒ?
M: My skin feels supple but well cleansed, I am not a 7 step skincare person. I like simple solutions and time is of the essence and so the Daily Base does the job for me all in one go.
Q: Your favourite products in the Wǒ range that address your skin concerns and why?
Q: Would you recommend Wǒ to your friends and family?
Q: What would you like to see Wǒ keep doing?
M: Wǒ’s environmental standpoint is spot on, in the future I would love to see a foundation/skincare fusion.
